Waking Up
Rise and shine! A new day has begun! While the rooster’s “cock-a-doodle-doo” used to kick off the day, the bird has long since surrendered to inventions from the clock making sphere and even, nowadays, to technological gadgets. The evolution of this simple everyday sound reflects the evolution of western societies over the last century, including Québec’s; in other words, their transition from a rural and agricultural society to an industrial and urban one.
